Situbondo selected for Indonesia's Integrated National School program
Indonesia's Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has announced plans to establish an Integrated National School (SNT) in Situbondo, East Java. The project aims to expand access to high-quality education by creating a seamless learning ecosystem that combines junior and senior high schools within a single complex.
Gogot Suharwoto, Director General of Early Childhood, Primary, and Non-Formal Education, has requested the Situbondo administration to prepare approximately 20 hectares of land for the development. The initiative follows Presidential Instruction No. 10 of 2026 regarding the acceleration of education quality improvement. Suharwoto noted that the facility is intended to meet national standards while incorporating local potential, aiming to compete with international schools in Indonesia.
Situbondo District Head Yusuf Rio Wahyu Prayogo expressed readiness to provide the necessary land, describing the SNT as a premier institution. Construction is expected to begin next year.
