SIUBEN strengthens social information capacity in Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic’s Single Beneficiary System (SIUBEN) has strengthened its capacity to generate, update, and manage social information to better support public protection policies. Under the direction of Augusto de los Santos, the institution is modernizing its technological processes and implementing the INSPIRE 2026 Project to improve data interoperability and quality control.
A key achievement is the expansion of the Universal Social Registry of Households (RSUH), which now contains socioeconomic information for approximately 77% of the country's households. Since August 2024, SIUBEN has updated data for over 300,000 households, focusing on vulnerable territories such as the El Valle region, San José de Ocoa, Dajabón, Santiago Rodríguez, and parts of Monte Cristi.
Looking toward 2026, the institution plans to continue these efforts through new socioeconomic surveys in prioritized areas, including the Enriquillo region, western Santiago, and sectors of the Greater Santo Domingo area.
