SIULM Marina demands concrete resources for military pensions
The SIULM Marina (Unitary Union of Military Workers) has called for concrete resources and legislative action following the first interministerial meeting regarding military pensions in Rome. The meeting, held at the Department of Public Function, involved representatives from six ministries and 40 labor organizations.
Andrea Manzi, a national leader for SIULM Marina, expressed support for the government's commitment to open the dialogue, which was promised during the 2025-2027 contract renewals for the Security and Defense sector. However, the union emphasized that verbal commitments from Minister for Public Administration Paolo Zangrillo must be followed by actual funding and regulatory changes.
The union's primary demands include the recognition of actual service time in pension calculations and a system that accounts for the specific operational conditions of military personnel, such as shifts, missions, and extended availability requirements.
