Siusi bus driver assaulted after rejected payment
A 37-year-old man has been reported to the Bolzano Prosecutor's Office following an assault on a bus driver in Siusi, Italy. The incident occurred on the 170 line after the passenger's AltoAdige Pass was declined due to insufficient funds.
According to the Carabinieri of Fiè allo Sciliar, the driver had offered the passenger the opportunity to travel to the Siusi bus station to withdraw cash. However, after a failed attempt to withdraw funds, the man returned to the vehicle, opened the driver's compartment door, and attempted to drag the driver out of the cabin.
Local authorities intervened to restore order, and no injuries were reported among the driver or passengers. The suspect faces charges of violence or threats against a public official and interruption of a public utility service.
