Sivas Bilim ve Teknoloji University develops electromagnetic shield for UAVs
Researchers at Sivas Bilim ve Teknoloji University (SBTÜ) have launched the ‘Invisible Shield Project’ to protect unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and armed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from electromagnetic interference. Supported by TÜBİTAK, the project aims to develop a next-generation optical window technology using a hybrid film composed of transparent and conductive nanomaterials.
This technology is designed to allow light to pass through for optical imaging while simultaneously shielding sensitive electronic components from electromagnetic waves. The development targets defense, aerospace, space, and electro-optical systems, specifically addressing performance issues caused by interference in infrared cameras and other optoelectronic devices. The project team includes researchers from SBTÜ, Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, and İskenderun Technical University.
