Sivas Foundation Ceremony Launches Siyer-i Nebi Külliyesi Project
A foundation ceremony was held in Sivas to lay the cornerstone of the Siyer-i Nebi Külliyesi, a complex of 30 buildings intended to serve as a centre for Islamic scholarship and cultural unity. The event was attended by Turkey's Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi and Bilal Erdoğan, chairman of the İlim Yayma Vakfı board, along with Ömer Faruk Müderrisoğlu, president of the Külliyesi foundation.
Speakers emphasized the project's role in countering social division. Çiftçi warned that "manevi tahribatın derinleştiği, batıl anlayışların zihinleri ve gönülleri kuşatmaya çalıştığı bir dönem" (we are in a period where spiritual decay deepens and superstitious ideas envelop minds and hearts). Erdoğan invoked a Qur'anic call for solidarity, saying, "Dağılırsanız zayıf olursunuz. Birlik olun Müslümanlar" (If you disperse, you become weak. Be united, Muslims). The ceremony concluded with prayers and the presentation of gifts to the officials.
