Sivas Governor inspects sports facilities, hospital construction, and mosque restoration

Sivas Governor Yılmaz Şimşek conducted field inspections of several ongoing infrastructure and restoration projects in Sivas, Turkey.

At the Sivas Cumhuriyet University campus, the Governor reviewed the progress of the Turkey Olympic Preparation Center (TOHM) and the Athlete Training Center (SEM). The 7,908 square meter facility is designed to meet the training, accommodation, and social needs of athletes, featuring 74 rooms with a 222-bed capacity, a conference hall, and various social amenities.

Additionally, Şimşek inspected the construction site of the Sivas Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Medicine Training and Research Hospital, receiving updates on the project's final stages from University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Şengönül and contractor officials.

Finally, the Governor visited the Ulu Camii to observe restoration efforts coordinated by the Sivas Regional Directorate of Foundations. The work includes minaret surface restoration using steel scaffolding, cleaning, and maintenance, as well as wooden flooring work on the roof, all aimed at preserving the mosque's historical and architectural integrity.
