Sivas search continues for missing 11-month-old baby
Search operations are ongoing in the Divriği district of Sivas, Turkey, for 11-month-old Büşra Balıkçı, who disappeared from a tent in the İncedere Yaylası region on September 10. Specialized teams from AFAD, the gendarmerie, and commandos are conducting the search, utilizing artificial intelligence-supported drones, tracking dogs, and cadaver dogs across a roughly 3-square-kilometer area. Despite the deployment of dozens of personnel and multiple vehicles, no traces of the infant have been found.
An investigation into the disappearance has led to the arrest of six individuals, including the infant's parents, Elif and Yusuf Balıkçı, as well as several relatives. The mother has alleged in her statement that the father killed the child and left her in the terrain, a claim the father denies. A publication ban has been issued by the Divriği Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the case.
