Six arrested after violent traffic clash in Bursa's İznik district
On 5‑6 June 2026 a driver attempting a U‑turn on Atatürk Avenue in İznik, Bursa, was told "look ahead" by a pedestrian. The comment sparked a verbal altercation that quickly turned into a physical brawl, with a crowd delivering kicks and punches to the driver, who was injured and taken to hospital.
Police responded in large numbers, reviewing CCTV footage and interviewing witnesses. Six individuals identified as the aggressors were arrested, processed by the local police, and subsequently sentenced to prison by the court.
Following the incident, the Bursa Provincial Police Directorate deployed Special Operations, Rapid Response, Narcotics, and the İznik District Police to increase patrols and maintain public order. The heightened security presence remains in effect to deter further violence in the area.
