Six candidates identified for IRIB presidency

Journalist Ali Gholaki has identified six final candidates for the presidency of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB). Out of an initial pool of 18 potential figures, these six individuals are reportedly being considered by decision-makers.

The shortlisted candidates include:

• Mostafa Mohammadi: Advisor to the Qorb Base and head of the IRIB Planning and Budget Center. • Majid Zeinalabedin: Advisor to the IRIB President and head of the Rudaki Foundation. • Javad Ramazannjad: Head of the Satra regulatory organization and head of the IRIB Basij Center. • Amin Tavakolizadeh: Former deputy for social and cultural affairs at Tehran Municipality and former director of Imam Reza TV. • Alireza Sharifi: Member of the IRIB Policy Council and head of the Monitoring and Evaluation Center. • Ali Foroughi: Director of IRIB TV3 and head of the IRIB Sports Specialized Council.

Gholaki noted that the current state of IRIB lacks the capacity to effectively narrate ongoing regional conflicts, suggesting a need for change despite the current geopolitical climate.
