Six students disappear in Jalisco following graduation ceremonies

Six minors vanished in the Mexican state of Jalisco between 25 and 30 June 2026 after attending graduation events. Three were last seen in the El Zancudo area of Puerto Vallarta – 18‑year‑old Flor Yoselin Espinoza Contreras, 17‑year‑old José Israel Ramos Mejía and 14‑year‑old Elvira Monserrat Guzmán Mascorro – while waiting for public transport. The other three disappeared in Guadalajara’s Lomas del Paraíso neighborhood – 15‑year‑old Justhin Enrique Torres Sandoval, and 14‑year‑olds Jordán Isaac García López and Christopher Alfredo Sandoval Muñoz – shortly after their ceremony at Secundaria Técnica 113.

Family members say the youths later contacted them by phone, saying they were safe but could not return, and one asked that the online search notices be withdrawn. The vice‑fiscal of the Jalisco Missing Persons Unit, Blanca Jacqueline Trujillo Cuevas, quoted the victims: “They said they were fine but could not come back at the moment… one of them asked the family to remove the search fichas.”

State prosecutors are probing a possible link to organized‑crime recruitment and have requested assistance from authorities in neighboring states Colima and Michoacán. Searches remain active nationwide while investigators continue field work and interviews.
