Six injured in serious collision on Kennedyweg

Six people were injured in a serious vehicle collision on the Kennedyweg in Suriname on Sunday morning, August 9. The accident involved a Honda Fit and a Lexus near building number 337.

Preliminary investigations suggest the collision occurred when the driver of the Lexus attempted to overtake the Honda Fit during a curve. Following the impact, the Honda Fit lost control, struck an EBS utility pole, and ended up in an eastern trench. The Lexus also left the roadway and landed on its roof in a western gutter.

Among the injured were three passengers in the Honda Fit and two occupants of the Lexus. The two individuals in the Lexus were reported to be unresponsive immediately following the crash. Authorities are investigating the incident, noting that while the Honda driver holds a Dutch driver's license, the Lexus driver may not possess a valid license.
