Mexican security forces conduct multiple rescues of kidnapping and flood victims

Security forces in several Mexican states rescued individuals who had been kidnapped or trapped by rising waters. In San Luis Potosí, the state Guardia Civil rescued a woman held against her will, detaining two suspects from Tamaulipas and seizing six firearms. In Zacatecas, Operation Tornado freed a mother and her newborn while dismantling a crime‑organised camp that yielded weapons, tactical gear and a vehicle. In Jalisco, civil‑protection units rescued six hikers stranded at the San Andrés Ixtlán waterfall after a sudden increase in river flow.

Separate incidents also saw authorities intervene in kidnapping‑related cases. In Navojoa, Sonora, police rescued a 21‑year‑old woman who had responded to a fraudulent job offer and was held in a house; two suspects were arrested. In Monterrey, police rescued two children abandoned by their mother in a shopping‑center parking lot and placed them under child‑protection services. Additionally, the Spanish Guardia Civil rescued ten paddle‑surf participants off Horcas Coloradas after strong winds pushed them out to sea.

These operations highlight coordinated law‑enforcement and emergency‑response efforts across Mexico and Spain to address kidnapping, organized‑crime activity, and natural‑hazard emergencies.
