The Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality’s Health and Social Services Department operates a continuous 7‑day‑24‑hour patient‑transport ambulance service. The program deploys 90 personnel and a fleet of 28 ambulances—including 25 active units and 3 reserve vehicles—to transport bedridden, non‑ambulatory and dialysis patients from their homes to hospitals, dialysis centres and other health facilities. Requests are made through the 153 call centre, and the service also handles inter‑province transfers and provides medical support at local sports events and public gatherings.
