Six seriously injured in Navy Diving Center accident in Cartagena
Six people sustained serious injuries following an accident at the Navy Diving Center (CBA) located in La Algameca, Cartagena. The incident occurred shortly after 2:00 PM on Wednesday during a cold-water acclimatization course.
The victims were inside a hyperbaric chamber when the accident took place. While official circumstances have not been released by the Navy, preliminary reports suggest the injuries may have been caused by gas intoxication or decompression sickness.
Emergency services, including 061 medical personnel and firefighters from the Cartagena City Council, responded to the military installation. The injured individuals were evacuated to the Santa Lucía Hospital in Cartagena. Local police assisted with traffic management to facilitate the passage of ambulances.
