Food Poisoning at Tomaszów Lubelski Sports Camp Hospitalizes 16 Children

More than 20 children attending a sports camp near Tomaszów Lubelski showed symptoms of food poisoning on 4 August 2026. Emergency services dispatched several ambulances, fire‑rescue teams and a Lotnicze Pogotowie Ratunkowe (LPR) helicopter. Sixteen of the children, aged 9‑12, were hospitalized in Tomaszów Lubelski, Biłgoraj and Zamość. Police spokeswoman Małgorzata Pawłowska said the suspected cause was a contaminated meal served at a restaurant in the Kolonia‑Łaszczówka settlement. The patients are reported to be in stable condition and authorities are investigating the incident.
