Six youths reported for assaulting disabled man in Belgioioso

Six youths, aged between 16 and 21, have been reported to authorities following a violent assault on a 33-year-old man with a disability in Belgioioso, near Pavia. The incident occurred on the night of September 12 in the town center.

Investigators determined the group targeted the victim for trivial reasons, carrying out the assault in three distinct stages. Beyond the physical injuries, the attackers filmed the violence on their mobile phones and shared the footage on social media platforms to mock the victim. This resulted in significant psychological trauma and media shaming.

The victim is currently receiving specialized care in a therapeutic community. The Carabinieri have filed charges against the six individuals, including one minor. The legal charges include aggravated personal injury due to the victim's vulnerability, aggravated defamation, unlawful processing of personal data, and failure to render assistance. Documentation for the adults has been sent to the Public Prosecutor's Office in Pavia, while the minor's case has been referred to the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office in Milan.
