SIXT Portugal and GNR partner to combat automotive crime

SIXT Portugal has established a partnership with the Guarda Nacional Republicana (GNR) to combat automotive crime. The collaboration focuses on improving investigations, locating, and recovering vehicles involved in cases of breach of trust and other illicit uses of rental cars.

The protocol allows for the provision of vehicles to support criminal investigations and aims to bridge the gap between the private mobility sector and security forces. According to Fernando Frazão, Head of Security at SIXT Portugal, the partnership promotes road safety and social responsibility. Vítor Salgueiro, Director of Criminal Investigation at the GNR, noted that the agreement provides an opportunity to increase the effectiveness of identifying and responding to crimes specifically targeting the rent-a-car sector.
