SixTONES members appointed as new brand characters for Makita

Members of the idol group SixTONES—Jesse, Yugo Kochi, and Shintaro Morimoto—have been appointed as the new brand characters for the electric tool manufacturer Makita. At a press event held in Tokyo, the trio appeared in stylish workwear to promote the launch of a new commercial titled ‘Stoic and Strong’.

During the event, the members discussed their experiences using the tools. Jesse noted his long-standing familiarity with the brand through home renovation projects with his father, while Kochi emphasized the ease of use and user-friendliness of the products. Morimoto highlighted the aesthetic appeal of the tools, describing them as items that appeal to a sense of boyishness.

The presentation included a demonstration where the members used Makita power tools, such as circular saws, to construct wooden photo panels and chairs. The group's involvement aims to showcase the professional yet accessible nature of the brand's product line.
