Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin visits infantry battalions in Sumba

Indonesian Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin conducted visits to Territorial Development Infantry Battalions (Yonif TP) in East Sumba and Central Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara, on October 16, 2026.

In East Sumba, Sjamsoeddin visited the Yonif TP 876/Palatana marshalling area. He emphasized the battalion's role in supporting local government by maintaining security and assisting in community development. He instructed the troops to ensure the public feels safe and comfortable.

In Central Sumba, the Minister inspected the Yonif TP 930/Toda Tebi marshalling area. He urged soldiers to help citizens overcome local difficulties and noted that this unit is the first Indonesian Army unit to be permanently stationed in Central Sumba. Sjamsoeddin highlighted that the deployment aims to strengthen synergy between the military, local government, and the community to accelerate regional development.
