Sējējs 2026 competition opens public voting for Latvian producers

Nominations for the ‘Sējējs 2026’ competition have been announced, allowing the public to vote for their favorite local producers in the ‘Public Recognition’ category until September 19 via the official website.

In the Krāslava municipality, Anna Krumpāne of the organic farm ‘Mežābeles’ is a nominee. Her farm manages 50 hectares near Lake Dridža and maintains 51 bee colonies to produce organic flower honey. The farm also focuses on preserving Latgale culinary traditions and hosting visitors.

In the Smiltene municipality, SIA ‘Amberfarm’ from Variņi parish has been nominated in the ‘Organic Farming’ category. Owned by Andrejs Nika, the farm specializes in organic farming and the cultivation and processing of sea buckthorn and chaga. The farm currently offers sea buckthorn self-harvesting opportunities for the public.
