Sjællands Universitetshospital introduces new symbol for grief

Sjællands Universitetshospital has introduced a new symbol designed to assist people experiencing grief. Developed by the Palliative Care Team in the Child and Adolescent Department, the symbol is shaped like an angel wing featuring the text ‘Jeg har mistet’ (I have lost).

Designed to be worn on clothing, the symbol aims to make grief more visible in daily life, helping those who have lost a child, spouse, or close relative to receive more understanding and compassion from others. The initiative seeks to reduce the feeling of isolation often experienced by those navigating ‘invisible grief’ while facing societal expectations to function normally.
