SK Broadband’s B tv Hot Deal surpasses 10 billion won in sales

SK Broadband has announced that its TV-based short-form commerce service, ‘B tv Hot Deal’, has surpassed 10 billion won in cumulative sales within 10 months of its launch. The service has shown accelerating growth; while it took seven months to reach the first 5 billion won in sales, it achieved the subsequent 5 billion won in just three months.

Operating on B tv channel 41, the service introduces home shopping deals through short-form videos approximately one minute in length. Users can browse products using a remote control and complete purchases via smartphone links or telephone orders. This model differs from traditional home shopping by allowing customers to view multiple products at their convenience rather than watching a single product for an extended period.

Currently, 11 home shopping companies participate in the service, including Lotte Home Shopping, Hyundai Home Shopping, and GS SHOP. SK Broadband does not charge brokerage fees to these partners, aiming to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). For example, Home & Shopping reported that 87% of its products on the platform are from SMEs, accounting for 81% of its total order value.

SK Broadband plans to expand the service from IPTV subscribers to B tv cable users in the future.
