SK Earthon begins crude oil production in Vietnam offshore block

SK Earthon, a subsidiary of SK Innovation, has successfully commenced crude oil production at the Golden Camel structure within the 15-1/05 block in Vietnam. The production began in late September, ahead of the original schedule, approximately two years after development began.

The Golden Camel structure holds an estimated 60 million barrels of recoverable resources. SK Earthon and the block operator, Murphy Oil Corporation, plan to drill additional production wells to increase daily output to a maximum of 25,000 barrels.

In addition to starting production, a new oil layer with a thickness of 56 meters was discovered at a depth of approximately 3,800 meters in the nearby North White Camel structure. SK Earthon, Murphy Oil, and PetroVietnam Exploration Production (PVEP) intend to conduct further evaluations and integrate the development of the Golden Camel and Red Camel structures to maximize reserves and production efficiency.
