SK Hynix launches half‑day deep‑interview hiring, eliminates essays
South Korean semiconductor leader SK Hynix announced a redesign of its new‑graduate recruitment that will run from August 20 to 26. The company will replace traditional short interviews and self‑introduction essays with a half‑day intensive interview aimed at evaluating AI application skills, problem‑solving ability and logical thinking. Applicants for design, device, R&D and manufacturing roles can apply regardless of age or academic background, and will submit a new form that details AI competence and semiconductor expertise.
The hiring process will also shift from campus‑centric fairs to regional recruitment events in Seoul, Cheongju, Daegu and Gwangju, and will include an AI hackathon later in the year, offering winners a fast‑track interview. Chairman Chey Tae‑won emphasized the need for “thinking muscles” in the AI era, underscoring the company’s push to secure talent capable of driving its global AI‑semiconductor leadership.
