SK Hynix Nasdaq ADR Listing Secures $7 bn Cornerstone Investment

SK Hynix priced its Nasdaq American Depositary Receipt (ADR) offering on 9 July 2026 at $149 per ADS, with each ADS representing one‑tenth of a common share. The issue comprised 177.9 million ADSs, and three cornerstone investors signaled interest in buying up to $7 billion of shares on a non‑binding basis, with delivery expected around 14 July.

The ADR launch created a notable price disparity: the Korean‑listed shares traded at roughly $1,421 per share, while the ADR priced at $149, reflecting a premium of about 31 % between the KOSPI and Nasdaq markets. Analysts note the listing may prompt inclusion in the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index and a re‑rating by funds that already hold other memory makers.

Separately, the listing highlights SK Hynix’s strategic partnership with Nvidia on high‑bandwidth memory for AI infrastructure, underscoring the company’s role in the AI chip supply chain. However, current cross‑border conversion mechanisms remain limited, complicating immediate arbitrage opportunities.
