SK Telecom offers free YouTube Premium for Air subscribers
SK Telecom is launching a promotion for its self-sufficient mobile service, ‘Air’, to celebrate surpassing 200,000 subscribers. New subscribers to the ‘Air X’ unlimited data plan (58,000 KRW per month) will receive a one-year free subscription to YouTube Premium Lite.
In addition to the streaming benefit, subscribers will receive ‘Bonus Pack Points’ that can be used to pay monthly telecommunications fees or purchase items from the Air app’s point shop. For ‘Air X’ users, the company has expanded point utility so that up to 100% of the monthly fee can be covered by points through December. When combining these benefits, the effective cost of the unlimited data plan can be reduced to the 10,000 KRW range.
Other incentives include a waiver of eSIM issuance fees for new subscribers joining by September 30. The company noted that following recent expansions to point usage limits, the amount of points used for bill payments increased more than fivefold in August compared to the previous month.
