SK Telecom reports 67% profit surge in Q2 2026 driven by AI data centers

SK Telecom announced its consolidated earnings for the second quarter of 2026. Revenue reached KRW 4.3591 trillion, operating profit rose to KRW 566 billion and net profit to KRW 466 billion, marking a 67.3% year‑on‑year increase in operating profit.

Growth was led by the AI data‑center (AIDC) segment, whose revenue jumped 92.5% to KRW 136.2 billion. The company highlighted the recent establishment of a dedicated subsidiary, SK Hyper, to accelerate AIDC development and secure land and power resources. SK Hyper will oversee a phased rollout of AI data‑center capacity, targeting 5 GW by 2029 and up to 15 GW by 2035.

The telecom business showed modest improvement, with a slight 0.5% rise in overall revenue and a net addition of 156,842 mobile subscribers during the quarter. The dividend was set at KRW 830 per share, unchanged from the previous quarter.
