SK Telecom seeks AI infrastructure cooperation at GSMA M360 ASEAN
SK Telecom CEO Jae-heon Jeong attended the GSMA M360 ASEAN event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to discuss growth strategies and digital trust in the artificial intelligence era. During the summit, Jeong met with GSMA Secretary General Vivek Vadra to explore opportunities for transforming telecommunications infrastructure into AI-centric systems.
SK Telecom is pursuing an ‘AI full stack’ strategy, aiming to establish itself as an ‘Asia AI infrastructure hub’ by covering everything from infrastructure to models and services. Discussions also focused on enhancing digital trust through strengthened information security, prevention of digital crimes, and the advancement of AI-based networks.
Additionally, Jeong met with Syed Danial Albukhary of Tradewinds, an investment firm under Malaysia’s Al-Bukhary Group, to identify potential business collaborations. He also participated in a roundtable with executives from major telecommunications and tech companies across Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore to address technical sovereignty and governance in the AI era.
