Óskar Martín calls for recognition of class unionism day in Andalusia

Óskar Martín, the general secretary of UGT Andalucía, received the ‘Por un poder andaluz’ award from the Alejandro Rojas Marcos Foundation during an event held at the UGT headquarters in Seville. The ceremony included various sectors advocating for dialogue, consensus, and concord as drivers of Andalusian identity.

During the event, the President of the Junta, Juanma Moreno, emphasized the inclusive nature of Andalusian identity, stating that the regional flag belongs to everyone regardless of origin or political thought. He advocated for coexistence, tolerance, and respect for differing opinions.

In his acceptance speech, Martín thanked Moreno for his commitment to social dialogue but used the platform to formally request that the regional government recognize the day of class unionism in Andalusia, describing the move as an act of ‘social justice.’
