Skaramangas Shipyards hosts aframax tanker Ionic Astrapi for maintenance
The aframax tanker ‘Ionic Astrapi’ has entered the Skaramangas Shipyards for scheduled tank cleaning and its third Special Survey. The vessel, which has a capacity of 108,000 dwt, was originally built in 2011 at the Tsuneishi facilities in Japan.
The maintenance work includes extensive inspections aimed at maintaining high safety, quality, and operational performance standards. This project highlights the capability of Greek shipyards to service large-scale commercial vessels with high technical requirements.
Ionic, owned by Dimitris Sarakakis, noted that this project continues a long-standing business relationship with Skaramangas Shipyards. The company emphasized that the special survey is a complex technical undertaking requiring careful planning and coordination to ensure safety and quality.
