Skarżysko-Kamienna hosts pilgrimage for village leaders

A diocesan pilgrimage for village heads (sołtysów) and Rural Housewives' Clubs (Koła Gospodyń Wiejskich) took place on October 11 at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Ostrobramska in Skarżysko-Kamienna.

The mass was led by Father Jerzy Karbownik, with a homily delivered by Father Rafał Widuliński, the parish priest and custodian of the sanctuary. Father Wiesław Mazur, the diocesan chaplain for farmers, also participated in the liturgy.

During the homily, Father Widuliński emphasized the vital role these community leaders play in local society, describing their service as a mission that unites people. He noted that the efforts of the Rural Housewives' Clubs are essential for community celebrations, such as harvest festivals and local festivities. Many participants attended wearing traditional folk costumes, primarily from the Opoczno region.
