Skate Bowl Play to be acquired by The Alley Entertainment Centre

Armidale's Skate Bowl Play is set to undergo a change in ownership by the end of September. Tasmanian operators Mark Vernon and Kerryn Duncan will acquire the venue and integrate it into their brand, The Alley Entertainment Centre. This acquisition marks the company's third regional location, following existing operations in Devonport, Tasmania, and an upcoming project in Port Pirie, South Australia.

Rather than implementing immediate changes, the new owners intend to study the current business model and seek community feedback to determine what residents want from the venue. Most current staff members are expected to remain employed during the transition. Once the Port Pirie redevelopment is finalized, the owners plan to develop a “grand master plan” to refurbish the Armidale centre through a staged redevelopment process.
