Skateboarder Danny Leon targets Olympic hat‑trick at GRAVITEO in Barcelona

Danny Leon, a 31‑year‑old professional skateboarder and one of the sport’s most influential international figures, is returning to competition after a 2025 season hampered by injuries. He will compete at GRAVITEO, an urban‑sports festival organized by Prensa Ibérica, Sport and El Periódico, held at the Circuit de Barcelona‑Catalunya. Leon aims for his third Olympic appearance and hopes to achieve a "hat‑trick" at the event.

He said the Olympic inclusion of skateboarding has brought "more help, more possibilities to make a living, more visibility, and municipalities are building more skate parks," but warned that the sport’s street‑rooted culture is "being lost a bit as it becomes more competition." Leon emphasized that skateboarding’s core values are freedom and fun, noting that "the most important thing is to have fun, make friends, no matter where you are in the world."

Leon also highlighted the value of multi‑sport events like GRAVITEO, which bring together disciplines such as skateboarding and climbing, fostering cultural exchange and broader exposure for urban sports.
