Skateboarding infrastructure improvements reported in Brazil
Recent developments in Brazilian skateboarding infrastructure highlight both government-led renovations and community-driven growth. In Paranoá, the Government of the Federal District (GDF) completed a R$ 427,900 renovation of the local skatepark. The project, part of the ‘GDF na Sua Porta’ program, included leveling the floor, installing new obstacles that meet official sporting standards, applying polished granite flooring, and adding metal guardrails.
Additionally, the GDF invested R$ 623,300 in improvements to the Quadra 2 plaza, which now features reconstructed sidewalks, benches, concrete tables, a sand playground, and a community meeting point.
In Florianópolis, the Trinda Times skatepark has established itself as a significant regional hub. Originally opened in 2004, the facility underwent a major renovation in 2023, expanding to over 2,000 square meters to become the largest street skating track in Santa Catarina. The site has evolved from a local meeting point into a venue for national competitions, including the Trinda Times Pro circuit.
