Skatteverket warns of labor crime linked to low prices

Nina Blomkvist, the national coordinator for agency cooperation against labor crime at Skatteverket, is urging consumers to be vigilant regarding unusually low prices for goods and services. She warns that extreme discounts on services such as tire changes, cleaning, or beauty treatments can be warning signs of criminal activity.

According to Blomkvist, these low prices may mask exploitative labor practices, unpaid taxes, or money laundering operations. By choosing to purchase from reputable companies, consumers can help support a healthier business climate and make it more difficult for fraudulent actors to operate.
