Skerdi Prifti, prominent Albanian doctor and professor, passes away

Skerdi Prifti, a prominent gastrohepatologist and professor, has passed away. The University Hospital Center ‘Nënë Tereza’ (QSUT) in Tirana announced his sudden death, noting his 40 years of professional dedication to medicine and patient care.

Prifti graduated from the University of Medicine in Tirana between 1981 and 1986. His career included international studies, including a scholarship at Georgetown University. In addition to his clinical work, he served as a professor at the University of Medicine in Tirana, where he contributed to the training and education of multiple generations of medical professionals.
