Ski Classics World Championship moves to Engadin Valley

The Ski Classics World Championship XVIII will feature major events in Switzerland's Engadin Valley in January 2027. The competition includes the long-standing Engadin La Diagonela on January 16, a 55-kilometer classic race running from Pontresina to Zuoz at altitudes exceeding 1,800 meters.

On January 17, the championship introduces a new format with the Zuoz – St. Moritz Sprint. This 30-kilometer classic mass start event features a unique scoring system where both Champion and Sprint points are determined at the finish line rather than at intermediate points. Race director Lukas Bauer noted that this change will fundamentally alter team tactics, as athletes must remain prepared for a final group sprint in St. Moritz.
