Ski resorts prepare for 2026/2027 winter season

Ski resorts across Europe are preparing for the 2026/2027 winter season, with varying pricing and weather conditions. In Serbia, Stara Planina is emerging as a more affordable alternative to Kopaonik, offering seven-day ski passes for approximately 15,750 to 16,200 dinars, with potential discounts for November pre-purchases.

In Croatia, early snow has been recorded at the Platak mountain resort near Rijeka. Meanwhile, Croatian skiers are evaluating options ranging from local sites like Kranjska Gora in Slovenia to more expensive Alpine destinations, where average daily passes have risen to around 73 euros.

In Austria, the Sölden resort is gearing up for an early start on its glaciers, featuring 147 kilometers of slopes and hosting the Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Cup in late October. In Poland, rescue services (GOPR) in the Beskids are conducting international evacuation drills to prepare for potential cable car emergencies during the upcoming season.
