Ski stars Aleksander Aamodt Kilde and Felix Neureuther face health challenges
Norwegian skier Aleksander Aamodt Kilde has suffered a torn Achilles tendon during training in Chile on October 14. The injury ends his World Cup season before it began. The 34-year-old, who previously recovered from a serious injury in Wengen in early 2024, has not yet decided if he will return to professional racing.
Former German ski star Felix Neureuther is also dealing with significant health issues. At 42, Neureuther is managing spinal stiffness and previous disc herniations through conservative therapy to avoid major surgery. He recently missed a charity event due to these complications and is currently focused on rehabilitation.
In a separate discussion regarding public health, Neureuther expressed concern over the lack of physical activity among children in Germany. He attributed this trend to digitalization and technological conveniences, advocating for increased support for creative and physical subjects like sports in the school system.
