Skillet announces new EP ‘After the Storm’ amid streaming milestones

Rock band Skillet has announced the release of a new independent EP titled ‘After the Storm’, scheduled for October 9. The six-song project, produced by David Cowell and Korey Cooper, is described by frontman John Cooper as a personal creative statement inspired by themes of grief, betrayal, and hope.

The announcement follows significant commercial milestones for the band. Their 2009 anthem ‘Monster’ has surpassed 4 billion global streams, earning the track a place in Spotify’s Billions Club. Additionally, the band recently completed a sold-out European headline tour that moved 90,000 tickets across 23 cities, including record-breaking sales at the Zénith in Paris.

In preparation for the EP, the band has released the single ‘Lift Me Up’, accompanied by an anime-inspired lyric video. This follows the momentum of their previous single ‘Scream’, which has already garnered millions of streams.
