Skin health experts discuss the exposome and skin barrier maintenance

Recent discussions in dermatology highlight the importance of the skin barrier and the concept of the 'exposome'—the cumulative environmental, behavioral, and biological exposures a person experiences throughout their life. At the Aruna International Summit in Jakarta, dermatologist Nala Shin explained that factors such as UV radiation, pollution, diet, stress, and sleep patterns significantly impact skin health and inflammation.

Regarding topical treatments, using honey as a face mask is generally considered safe for most skin types due to its moisturizing and antibacterial properties. While raw honey can act as a natural antibiotic to combat acne-causing bacteria, experts suggest that applying it once or twice a week is often sufficient to see results, emphasizing consistency over daily application.
