Skin health experts warn of increased dryness during seasonal changes

As seasonal changes bring cooler temperatures and lower humidity, dermatologists are warning of increased skin dryness, itching, and redness. Dr. Halil İbrahim Gazioğlu from Medical Point Gaziantep Hospital notes that autumn weather can lead to skin tightness, scaling, and cracking, particularly on the hands, legs, arms, and face.

Common mistakes contributing to skin issues include taking long, very hot showers, which can weaken the skin's natural protective barrier and deplete natural oils. Experts recommend using lukewarm water and keeping showers brief to maintain moisture.

In addition to professional care, home remedies such as a flaxseed mask are being discussed for temporary hydration. This mask, made from boiled flaxseed gel, yogurt, fig seed oil, and vitamin E, can help skin appear softer and more radiant. However, experts emphasize that such topical mixtures are not substitutes for medical procedures like Botox and should be tested on a small area of skin first to check for sensitivity.
