Skincare advancements focus on hydration and lightweight SPF protection

Developments in skincare focus on addressing specific skin concerns such as dryness and UV protection through advanced formulations. NIVEA has introduced a new Repair & Care serum-lotion designed to alleviate five signs of dry skin: dryness, roughness, itching, tightness, and irritation. Developed with dermatologists, the formula contains 12% glycerin, natural oils, and CICA (Centella Asiatica) to provide up to 72 hours of hydration and support the skin's natural barrier.

In the realm of sun protection, there is a growing trend toward lightweight SPF products that integrate seamlessly into daily skincare routines. Modern formulations, including fluids, gels, and serums, aim to avoid the heavy or greasy feeling often associated with traditional sunscreens. Dermatologists, including those from the American Academy of Dermatology, recommend broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher to protect against both UVA rays, which contribute to photoaging, and UVB rays, which cause sunburn.
