Skincare and makeup experts share tips for healthy aging

Experts in dermatology and makeup are highlighting specific routines and techniques to support healthy skin aging. Rather than attempting to erase all expression lines, the current focus is on maintaining skin health, luminosity, and natural volume.

Dermatologists recommend a minimalist daily routine for those in their 50s. This includes applying an antioxidant and sunscreen in the morning—noting that sun exposure is a primary cause of aging—and using a vitamin A derivative alongside exfoliation twice a week at night.

In terms of cosmetics, makeup artist Itzel Lastra suggests using cream, liquid, or satin textures instead of heavy powders to avoid emphasizing expression lines. She recommends applying blush in an upward motion toward the temples to create a lifting effect, rather than applying it to the center of the cheeks, which can pull facial features downward.
