Skincare brands SAIL and Lancôme launch biotech-driven products in Japan
Skincare brands SAIL and Lancôme are introducing new product lines in Japan that leverage biotechnology and biological skin age analysis.
SAIL is launching ‘The Rejuvenating Serum’ on October 1. This marks the brand's first foray into water-soluble ingredients, moving beyond its traditional focus on plant oils. The formula utilizes ‘Acmella Active Extract’ derived from Spilanthes acmella, alongside Arnica from French mountain regions and other biotechnological ingredients to improve skin firmness and density.
Lancôme has released its ‘Absolu M. D. Meta Discovery’ series, which focuses on ‘biological skin age’ rather than chronological age. The line includes five products categorized into three stages: Anticipate (under 35), Intercept (35–54), and R. Set (55+). Notably, the series is the first in Japan to apply high-purity microized Urolithin A, known as ‘Mitopure’, to skincare. To support this launch, Lancôme is also introducing personalized skin analysis technologies, including the ‘CELL BIOPRINT’ device developed in partnership with South Korea’s NanoEntek, which analyzes skin biomarkers in 15 minutes.
