Skincare trends focus on skin volume and antioxidant-rich botanicals
New trends and specialized formulas are emerging in skincare to address aging and skin health. A new generation of eye creams is targeting skin volume loss and thinning skin under the eyes, rather than just pigmentation. These formulas combine intense hydration from ingredients like hyaluronic acid and glycerin with long-term restorative agents such as retinoids, peptides, and ceramides to improve firmness and skin resilience.
Additionally, a viral K-beauty trend known as “retinol tea” has gained popularity on social media. Despite its name, the beverage does not contain actual retinol but is a blend of antioxidant-rich botanicals including green tea, ginseng, goji berries, and jujube. Dermatologists note that while ingredients like goji berries provide beta-carotene which the body converts to vitamin A, the tea serves as a supportive supplement to skin health rather than a replacement for topical treatments or essential habits like sun protection and sleep.
