Skincare trends show rising interest in glycylglycine and pore care

Recent consumer data reveals shifting trends in the Japanese skincare and cosmetics market. According to @cosme review data from August 2026, there is a rising interest in ingredients like glycylglycine, particularly for pore care. Popular products include Korean brands such as MEDICUBE and CELLADIX, which are being used to address skin texture and sebum control.

Top-performing serums include SK-II’s Facial Treatment Essence, which led in review volume, followed by The Ordinary’s N10+Z1 Face Serum, noted for its cost-effectiveness and niacinamide content. Other notable mentions include HAKU for brightening and ANUA for sebum and acne care.

A separate survey by MyVoiceCom Inc. involving over 10,000 respondents indicates that approximately 35% of people express interest in cosmetics. The primary motivations for use are grooming (50.5%), maintaining skin health (47.2%), and UV protection (33.7%). Drugstores remain the most common purchase location at 64.6%, while online shopping accounts for 34.0%.
