Skip Ewing releases new acoustic ballad ‘Me & God and a Fishing Pole’
Country songwriter Skip Ewing has released a new acoustic ballad titled ‘Me & God and a Fishing Pole,’ which is featured on his new album, Dragonfly.
During a Taste of Country acoustic studio session, Ewing explained that the song focuses on the essence of being human rather than strictly religious themes. He noted that while the title mentions fishing, his lyrical perspective was heavily influenced by his years spent working with horses, including solo trips through the mountains of Wyoming.
Ewing, 62, is a veteran songwriter known for hits recorded by artists such as Kenny Chesney and Diamond Rio. His most significant radio success was ‘Burnin’ a Hole In My Heart.’
