Skoda celebrates automotive milestones and Octavia anniversary

Skoda is marking several milestones in its automotive history, ranging from historical prototypes to modern anniversary celebrations. The company developed the Type 736 in 1973, a minimalist buggy prototype featuring a tubular frame and roll bar, following a trend in autocross racing during the 1960s and 70s. Five prototypes of this model were produced.

In contemporary news, Skoda has announced two special editions to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Octavia model. Since its introduction in 1996, the Octavia has seen nearly eight million units produced across four generations. The new Octavia Edition 30 is available in both hatchback and estate versions, featuring upgraded equipment such as 17-inch alloy wheels, a 13-inch media display, and various engine options including mild-hybrid petrol and TDI diesel. Additionally, the company is releasing the vRS Plus, a high-performance version featuring exclusive exterior colors, a premium Canton sound system, and LED Matrix headlights.
